SI-BONE Achieves Design-at-Scale of Additive Implants with Batch Processing

SI-BONE, a leader in minimally invasive joint surgery, needed to scale the design of osseointegrative porous lattice structures across a 70+ part product family while maintaining regulatory traceability and reducing error-prone manual effort. To solve this, they engaged nTopology and leveraged its design automation capabilities (custom nTop blocks and the nTopCL command‑line interface) to formalize and control lattice parameters and workflows.

nTopology helped SI-BONE develop a proprietary trabecular lattice, package the workflow as a revision-controlled custom block with reporting, and automate application to the entire product line via an nTopCL/Python batch script. The automation cut a 1.5‑day manual task to about 6 non‑business hours, reduced processing time by ~50%, saved $1,000+ per batch, delivered 100% overlap with benchmark results, and enabled traceable, scalable design-at-scale across 70+ parts.
