Podruzhka Retail Chain, a 224-store beauty retailer, wanted to reduce shoplifting, minimize losses from dishonest customers, and improve pre-trial conflict resolution. To address this challenge, it worked with NtechLab and its facial recognition technology, used in the STOP-Shoplifter system developed by BIT for retail theft prevention.

NtechLab’s facial recognition solution integrated with CCTV and a cloud-based recognition engine to identify suspected shoplifters when they re-entered stores and alert security staff. In the first six months, the system helped detain more than 160 shoplifters across 50+ stores and recover over 500,000 rubles in losses, with the client planning to expand the deployment across most of the chain.
