Case Study: Europe’s Largest Cities achieve safer, faster video surveillance with NtechLab

Metropolitan-scale Safe City System in Eastern Europe

One of Europe’s largest cities, through its Department of Information Technologies, needed a way to improve public safety, extend video retention, and make better use of its municipal surveillance network. To address this challenge, the city worked with NtechLab and its FindFace facial recognition technology to build a centralized video analytics system for large-scale city monitoring.

NtechLab integrated real-time facial recognition into the city’s existing video surveillance infrastructure, with facial searches completed in under 3 seconds and no need for additional camera investments. The system helped police work with video footage up to 10 times faster, extended video storage from 5 to 30 days, and contributed to solving 3,249 crimes since early 2019; it also identified 152 restricted individuals at mass events and supported pandemic monitoring across more than 100,000 CCTV cameras.
