Case Study: The Guardian achieves resilient, redundant global DNS with NS1 Managed & Dedicated DNS

A NS1 Case Study

Preview of the The Guardian Case Study

The Guardian Never Sleeps with NS1’s Dedicated and Managed DNS

Guardian News & Media (The Guardian), a globally distributed news organization with headquarters in London and offices in the US and Australia, needed a DNS solution that eliminated single points of failure and provided rapid, reliable resolution for a worldwide workforce and correspondents. Their requirements included multi-provider redundancy or a single-provider alternative that could deliver advanced geolocation-based routing without the overhead of building and maintaining an orchestration layer.

GNM chose NS1’s combined Managed DNS and Dedicated DNS offering, which created a separate DNS instance paired with unified management and NS1’s Filter Chain for geolocation/ASN/IP-based routing. NS1 provided hands-on migration support and a full-feature API to verify configurations; the result was a fast, smooth transition to dual-network redundancy, improved resilience and fault tolerance, and simplified ongoing DNS operations.
