Great Scottish Run needed a way to make Scotland’s biggest televised running event more interactive and supportive for up to 30,000 participants while protecting sponsor reputation. NowSignage was brought in to provide a digital signage platform to power “The Great Wall of Support,” a system that had to integrate with race timing chips, display personalised messages at specific course checkpoints, and work with EventBeat’s moderation process to prevent offensive content.
NowSignage implemented its digital signage solution integrated with the EventBeat moderation workflow and the runners’ timing‑chip IDs so each curated message was triggered and shown on large screens as the intended runner passed by. The result was a livelier, more personal race atmosphere, real‑time delivery of supporter messages at key viewing points, strong sponsor visibility for Bank of Scotland/Lloyds Banking Group, and engagement with the event’s tens of thousands of participants and spectators.
