U.S. Department of Justice - Customer Case Study

The U.S. Department of Justice, which oversees law enforcement and civil‑rights work across more than 115,000 employees, needed to prevent mobile apps from exposing sensitive data or violating policy. Manual pen testing couldn’t scale to vet the hundreds of Android and iOS apps in use, and the agency lacked visibility into supply‑chain and privacy risks (for example, sensitive location data) across its mobile portfolio.

By deploying NowSecure Platform, NowSecure Workstation and NowSecure Academy—integrated with VMware AirWatch and Splunk—the DOJ automated static, dynamic, interactive and API testing, continuous monitoring and policy enforcement to move to a whitelist model. The solution reduced app vetting from days to about 30 minutes, lifted workload from the security team, improved supply‑chain and privacy visibility, ensured federal compliance, and is being expanded across the agency and offered to other federal organizations.
