Building Optimization Services Helps Develop the First Net-Zero Energy Commercial Electric Building in the US
Ferreira Construction Co. wanted to create a net-zero energy commercial building for its New Jersey corporate headquarters as part of its commitment to sustainability. To meet this challenge, they worked with Noveda Technologies and utilized the company's Building Optimization Services.
Noveda implemented its EnergyFlow Monitor and SunFlow Monitor to track energy use and solar PV performance in real-time. The solution, which included a comprehensive retrofit with a large solar array and high-efficiency systems, completely eliminated the $100K annual energy bill. This made it the first net-zero commercial electric building in the US and generated $50K in annual cash flow from selling excess energy back to the grid.
