A NOVAtime Case Study

Preview of the Metals Fabrication Company Case Study

Metals-Fabrication Company, Inc. controls its job costs and provides payroll efficiency using NOVAtime 3000 Enterprise Edition and NT6500 push technology time clocks

Metals Fabrication Company, Inc., a structural steel fabricator serving the Western United States, needed a better way to manage employee time, job costs, and payroll efficiency across its manufacturing, warehouse, and office operations. After moving away from Kronos and a homegrown system, the company turned to NOVAtime and its NOVAtime 3000 Enterprise Edition with NT6500 push technology time clocks to simplify workforce management and improve visibility.

NOVAtime implemented the NT6500 touch-screen time clocks so employee punches are pushed automatically into NOVAtime 3000 in real time, eliminating batch data collection and PC-based upload steps. The solution gave employees kiosk access to their time, schedules, accruals, and job transfers, while supervisors could review punches through web services; the company said it saved significant time in tracking hours and job costs, improved job costing accuracy, reduced erroneous job entries through validation, and increased payroll efficiency.
