Trivest, a private equity fund, needed to build an ESG program driven by investor interest but faced challenges with getting portfolio company buy-in and identifying the right metrics to collect. To address this, the firm partnered with vendor Novata to find a solution for practical ESG data collection.

Novata provided its platform with over 1100 metrics and a built-in carbon calculator, helping Trivest use the ESG Data Convergence Initiative (EDCI) as a framework. As a result of this partnership, 100% of Trivest's portfolio companies participated in the first year of reporting, and 78% of the total requested metrics were provided, establishing a strong foundation for the evolving program.
