US Internet, an international internet and hosting provider, struggled with escalating licensing fees and complex, changeable pricing from its incumbent backup vendors (CommVault and Symantec) that made competitive service pricing impossible. After evaluating leading products, US Internet selected NovaStor’s NovaStor DataCenter for its transparent pay‑per‑server fixed pricing, high speed and reliability.
NovaStor implemented NovaStor DataCenter with an initial 30‑server install that scaled to 300 servers within a month and runs in an environment with >1,000 backup servers and ~20 TB of disk, delivering up to 400 MB/sec backup performance and improved deduplication through throughput throttling. The stable, low‑maintenance solution produced “massive savings” (saving hundreds of thousands of dollars) and opened new revenue opportunities worth millions, allowing US Internet to offer more competitive backup pricing, win new customers, and use backup as a door opener for additional services.
