Hogan & Associates Construction, a West Centerville, Utah firm that has built over 500 schools since 1945, faced no day-to-day disaster recovery solution—only occasional NAS snapshots—and experienced slow backup and restore speeds. IT Director Dan Kitchens evaluated options and selected NovaStor’s NovaBACKUP DataCenter to provide enterprise-level capability without heavy system draw or a hefty price tag.
NovaStor implemented NovaBACKUP DataCenter with bare-metal restore and multistreaming, configuring four parallel streams to dramatically speed backups and restores and enabling recovery to dissimilar hardware and VM restores to different hosts. The lightweight solution now protects their 12 servers (including OS, Exchange and SQL), supports offsite duplication and tape replication, and delivers noticeably faster, more reliable disaster recovery for Hogan & Associates.
