Tieto, a global IT services company with about 17,000 employees in nearly 30 countries, faced extreme data-protection challenges as data volumes exploded — more than 8 petabytes per month across 8,562 servers and projected to grow to 38 PB/month. With high availability requirements and a backup team of just 14 people, Tieto selected NovaStor and its enterprise backup product, NovaStor DataCenter, to meet the need for a highly scalable, reliable, high-throughput backup solution.

NovaStor implemented NovaStor DataCenter’s open, high-performance architecture and simple licensing model, enabling Tieto to back up 8,172 TB (≈8.2 PB) and 13.2 billion files per month across 310,000 jobs with a 99.09% success rate—managed by only four on-site and ten off-site operators—reducing total cost of ownership and supporting additional installations such as a new data center in Moscow.

Tieto
