Case Study: City of Gothenburg’s Parks and Nature Administration reduces maintenance costs with Novacura

Reduced maintenance costs paid for the project in the very first year

City of Gothenburg’s Parks and Nature Administration, Park & Natur, manages parks, plants, squares, natural areas, lakes, watercourses, and also handles street cleaning and winter road maintenance on request. To keep track of contracts, clients, objects, and services, it used IFS Applications alongside a separate geographical information system, but years of customization had driven annual maintenance costs too high. Park & Natur brought in Novacura to reduce those costs while keeping IFS Applications and extending its technical lifespan.

Novacura removed IFS add-ons, integrated the digital maps with the business system, and built a framework for applications that made it easier to install new ones. It also created an application for registering client and contract information that was forwarded to IFS and used to generate invoicing documents for the administration’s invoicing system. According to the customer, the entire project cost was paid off in the first year through reduced maintenance costs, and from year two the project represented pure savings.
