Odenwald Faserplattenwerk GmbH faced a challenge in accurately tracking the raw materials consumed by its production machinery, which led to significant discrepancies in its stock levels. Their IFS Applications 10 ERP system had no direct connection to receive this actual consumption data. Novacura provided a solution to this problem using its Novacura Flow platform.
Novacura implemented an automated integration using Novacura Flow as an engine to connect the machine to the IFS system via the OPC UA communication standard. The solution featured two workflows: sending production instructions to the machine and receiving actual consumption data from it. This eliminated manual estimates, increased accuracy, and improved stock management, providing the factory with real-time material tracking and significantly reduced discrepancies.
