The City of Tucson was facing increasing congestion and excessive vehicle delays in its downtown corridors. Their traditional traffic signal timing methods were unable to manage the complex traffic flows, which also led to long wait times for pedestrians. To address this, the city partnered with NoTraffic to deploy its Optimization Mode as part of the NoTraffic AI Mobility Platform.

The vendor's AI-driven solution dynamically adapted traffic signals in real-time to improve traffic flow and safety. The implementation across 15 key intersections resulted in a 57.1% reduction in PM peak delay and a 48.5% reduction in overall control delay. NoTraffic's platform also significantly enhanced safety, cutting red-light running by up to 45% and reducing pedestrian delays by up to 80%, while also lowering annual CO2 emissions by 1,848 metric tons.
