North Kansas City Hospital Launched Automated COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduling in 2 Weeks

North Kansas City Hospital, an acute-care health system with 550 clinicians across 46 specialties and Cerner as its EHR, needed a faster, more scalable way to reach eligible patients and schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments. Working with Notable, the hospital set out to automate patient outreach, registration, and scheduling while reducing the manual burden on staff and improving the patient experience.

Notable deployed digital assistants that used FHIR APIs, RPA, and machine vision to match patients to records, screen for eligibility and symptoms, collect consent, and book appointments with minimal IT lift. North Kansas City Hospital went live in just two weeks, scheduled 1,600 patients in the first 45 minutes, reached 80,000 appointments in the first three weeks, and achieved a 99% patient satisfaction rating, while at peak booking more than 5,400 patients in a single day.
