Mesa County Department of Human Services - Customer Case Study

Mesa County Department of Human Services partnered with Northwoods to support permanency casework, where staff needed better ways to manage information and spend more time building trust with families. Before using Northwoods’ Traverse solution, caseworkers struggled with poorly organized files and inefficient processes that made it hard to quickly find the right case details and family connections.

With Traverse, Northwoods gave Mesa County DHS a cloud-based system to quickly collect, retrieve, and share case information from anywhere, helping caseworkers identify relatives and supports, complete digital forms, and collaborate more easily across the team. The results were significant: Chase Sims-Ekrem said she saves 6-10 hours per week, cut documentation time from about 30 hours to 4 hours for a month’s worth of eight cases, and increased her time spent with families from 40% to 70%.
