Praxair Employs NWA For Ultra-Pure Process Gas Customer Satisfaction

Praxair Electronics, a leading supplier of ultra‑pure process and precursor gases for semiconductor and solar manufacturers, needed to reduce contamination and process variation to protect chip yield and meet increasingly tight “ship‑to‑control” customer requirements. To drive continuous process improvement across more than 7,000 products and up to a dozen quality parameters per product, Praxair engaged Northwest Analytics and deployed NWA Quality Analyst.

Northwest Analytics implemented Quality Analyst at Praxair’s Kingman, AZ site and rolled it out to plants in Oevel, Giheung, Tanjung and Toufen, interfacing 45 lab instruments to an Oracle database for near‑real‑time SPC, automated COA/EDI generation, exception flagging and predictive alerts. The solution cut report generation from weeks to about two hours (with only a three‑second PDF buffer), recovered the equivalent of one full‑time QA salary, enabled predictive maintenance and tighter control limits, and delivered measurable capability improvements (example Cpk 2.164) that strengthened customer retention and reduced costs.
