British Gypsum, the UK’s largest plasterboard and dry lining systems manufacturer producing over 150 million m² annually across five plants, faced inconsistent line-side quality recording (paper forms and a bespoke in‑house database) and wanted a standard, supported system. After evaluating options they selected Northwest Analytics’ NWA Quality Information System (NWA QIS) to replace disparate methods and remove the burden of in‑house software development.

Northwest Analytics deployed NWA QIS starting with a pilot at the Kirkby Thore plant, providing customizable workflows, template-driven tests pulled from a board code, instant tolerance feedback, enforced complete and consistent data entry, and live centralised SPC and analysis. The solution standardized checks across sites, improved operator accuracy and productivity, enabled desk-based trend and root-cause analysis, and contributed to measurable quality gains — Kirkby Thore later earned a World Class Manufacturing silver award with 62 points.
