Widmer Brothers Brewing, part of the Craft Brewers Alliance and one of the nation's larger craft brewers, faced growing operational complexity after a merger and needed to make sense of increasing volumes of lab and process data across multiple plants. To reduce variability, set targets, and understand process capability, Widmer Brothers Brewing selected Northwest Analytics' NWA Quality Information System (NWA QIS) as their process-management and analytics solution.

Northwest Analytics implemented NWA QIS to capture all critical in-process and finished-wort/beer parameters, enforce accurate data entry, and store measurements for reporting and analytics. Using SPC charts and process capability reports from NWA QIS, Widmer identified problem areas, received early warnings of process drift, and drove continuous improvements — notably better brewhouse efficiency (higher yield), improved bottle fill line performance, and more consistent supplier-sourced components — giving Widmer timely, actionable insight into their brewing operations.
