A Normative Case Study
Flying Tiger Copenhagen, a Denmark-based retailer with a highly complex global supply chain, needed to understand its carbon footprint before it could start reducing emissions. The company worked with Normative and its carbon accounting software to calculate scope 1, 2, and especially hard-to-measure scope 3 emissions across more than 1,000 factories and a wide range of materials and products.
With Normative’s hybrid spend-based and activity-based methodology, Flying Tiger Copenhagen quickly gained actionable emissions insights, identified textiles as a major hotspot, and received support for refining supplier data and preparing management updates. Normative also helped the retailer define and validate ambitious science-based targets, which were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), including a 30% scope 1 reduction by 2026, a 40% scope 3 reduction per million DKK from purchased goods and services, and a renewable electricity increase from 22% to 84% by 2026.
