Shadow Ridge Middle School boosts MAP Language Usage growth with NoRedInk: 36% of students grew 2+ grade levels

Shadow Ridge Middle School sought to improve the grammar and writing skills of its 7th graders and needed a way to measure the educational impact of the tools they were using. They partnered with the vendor NoRedInk to help achieve this goal.

Using NoRedInk's adaptive, personalized platform, students practiced skills that were tailored to their interests and knowledge levels. The solution from NoRedInk yielded significant results: data showed a strong correlation between usage and performance on the program and growth on the MAP® Language Usage test. Each 10-percentage-point increase in performance on NoRedInk was linked with more than one grade level of growth, and 36% of students grew by at least two grade levels. Teachers also reported seeing the skills learned on NoRedInk transfer into students' everyday writing.
