ThedaCare, a Wisconsin-based health system with seven hospitals, 35 clinics, and nearly 620 providers, had been on Epic since 1998 but had accumulated gaps in workflow, configuration, and best-practice alignment over time. These gaps created opportunities to improve care, increase efficiency, and reduce costs across the organization, leading ThedaCare to partner with Nordic for an enterprise-wide Epic Refresh optimization project.

Nordic conducted a rapid assessment of workflows, features, and Epic configuration, identifying more than 200 enhancement opportunities with ROI projections and then supporting ThedaCare through a year-long implementation. The results included more than $18 million in projected five-year return, savings of over 50 FTEs, reduced denials by more than 20%, standardized role-based templates for more than 7,000 users, and improved documentation accuracy and timeliness.
