The Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation - Customer Case Study

The Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation (CTA) needed a reliable public cloud setup to support its mission of delivering information to stakeholders across African, Caribbean, and Pacific countries. CTA had already built its solution on AWS with a modular architecture, but as the platform matured it faced growing technical debt, a backlog of change requests, and the need for a stronger partner to manage the application layer and ongoing development. Nordcloud provided Managed Cloud services for the AWS environment and application layer.

Nordcloud took over responsibility for operating the environment, managing the application layer, and implementing updates and improvements across the platform. The team modernized key components, including migrating the original Named Entity Recognition setup from Apache Stanbol and Neo4J to AWS Comprehend, which reduced technical debt, improved security, and lowered running costs. Nordcloud continues to support the solution and maintain a joint backlog with CTA, helping ensure the platform remains stable and continues to evolve.
