Delivering a successful data centre exit program with AWS across regions

SHL, a global leader in HR technology, faced the challenge of digitalizing its business post-divestiture by exiting its data centers. The company wanted to migrate to AWS to decrease latency for its global customers, reduce Microsoft licensing costs, and increase developer agility. Nordcloud was engaged to help execute this complex migration across multiple AWS regions.

Nordcloud delivered a program in three stages: upskilling SHL's team and assessing applications, building a core AWS "landing zone" infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines, and executing the mass migration. For the final stage, Nordcloud created a tailored solution for migrating SHL's Shanghai data centre to AWS regions in China. As a result, SHL successfully exited its data centres on time and on budget. Nordcloud helped significantly reduce AWS spend post-migration and enabled SHL to improve its time to market and feature release velocity.
