Case Study: STEFCO achieves a seamless, Linux‑ready upgrade to nopCommerce 4.10 with nopCommerce

STEFCO rewriting 17 plugins and cleaning the core code

Stefco, a supplier and installer of theater and stage equipment, needed to upgrade its ecommerce site to nopCommerce 4.10 (.NET Core) to enable a more user‑friendly, responsive admin area, better in‑store pickup, performance gains and a future migration to Linux hosting. The existing 3.70 site had heavy source‑code and database customizations and 21 plugins (17 requiring serious modification and 5 more needing customization transfer), which prevented a normal upgrade process.

Using the nopCommerce 4.10 platform, ISDK audited the site, ran custom SQL to produce a clean database copy, moved source‑code changes into custom plugins, reviewed and updated plugins, and executed the upgrade from 3.70 to 4.10. The upgrade preserved all data and settings with minimal traffic loss, delivered the requested admin, pickup and performance improvements, prepared the site for Linux/.NET Core hosting, and demonstrated the value of keeping customizations in plugins for easier future upgrades.
