A nopCommerce Case Study
AMBIO-N is a newly launched B2B marketplace for sustainably sourced materials (initially fabrics and tableware) that aims to accelerate the circular economy by connecting buyers with certified suppliers. The client had chosen nopCommerce (initial build on nopCommerce 4.10) but their previous vendor left the site largely as a default install and could not deliver required customizations such as gated content by user type (Guest, Free, Paid), product tagging, and a utility to link specific certificates to suppliers.
Using nopCommerce’s extensibility, Tmotions delivered a custom-designed marketplace and implemented the needed features: end-to-end product taxonomy and automated upload of thousands of products, gated access levels, an interconnected supplier–certification directory with supplier-selected certificates, product badges, and MailChimp and XERO integrations for bulk email and accounting. The site launched in September 2020, hosts 1,000s of products, enforces certification review to boost buyer credibility, syncs orders to XERO, and monetizes directory access via annual plans — all built on the nopCommerce platform.
