Caster Technology Corporation Populating 2 Million Product Skus Hands-free

Caster Technology needed to launch an online presence and faced the huge challenge of pushing 2 million SKUs from its ERP into a new storefront while auto-generating product descriptions and supporting different descriptions per store. Irvine implemented the solution on the nopCommerce platform (nopCommerce 3.7) to address the multi-store, high-volume import and attribute population requirements.

Irvine built a middle-tier integration with nopCommerce that generates descriptions from SKU patterns, bulk-resizes and watermarks images, pushes product data to nopCommerce and images to Azure CDN, provides a pull service for images, and customizes the admin to allow multiple names/descriptions per store plus auto-store theming. The result: nopCommerce now holds 2 million SKUs populated hands-free with no manual work, 12 stores running on a single platform (with plans to expand to 50), streamlining catalog setup and enabling future pricing and tax integration.
