Epiroc Drilling Solutions, a manufacturer of mobile drilling rigs, faced challenges with inconsistent assembly quality and inefficient processes due to generic, paper-based work instructions. Their "low volume, high mix" production was confusing for operators, who relied on experience and memory, leading to variability. They sought a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and selected NoMuda VisualFactory.

NoMuda VisualFactory integrated with Epiroc's ERP to create standardized, intuitive digital work instructions, replacing the paper process. This provided a consistent assembly sequence, improving quality and reducing defects. The solution made it easier to communicate production issues and track changes. Epiroc expects at least a 10% reduction in man-hours and plans to expand the use of NoMuda VisualFactory's reporting capabilities to more product lines.
