VirtaMed, a provider of medical VR surgical simulators, faced the challenge of managing multiple complex surgery simulation scenarios. Their developers needed a more efficient way to check how code changes affected each simulation, as manual testing was extremely time-consuming. They partnered with vendor Nomtek to develop an automated acceptance testing framework built in Unity to address this.

Nomtek developed and integrated a custom Unity-based testing framework that simulates the entire surgical toolset and procedure steps. This automated solution allows developers to validate scenarios with a single click, drastically reducing testing time. As a result, VirtaMed can now release new surgical simulations for training much faster and with less effort, enhancing their development workflow.
