The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) in Ontario, responsible for verifying electrical installations across more than 400,000 square miles and serving 15 million residents, faced the challenge of efficiently scheduling over 450,000 annual inspections carried out by roughly 300 field inspectors. Their aging, desktop-only in‑house planner could not handle frequent last-minute rescheduling, dynamic risk constraints, or provide effective field access, so ESA selected Nomadia’s TourSolver to meet needs for smart navigation, journey optimization and real‑time management.
Nomadia implemented its TourSolver SaaS route‑optimization platform with desktop and mobile access, real‑time monitoring and built‑in customer communications, enabling inspectors to receive routes and site data in the field and re‑optimize on the fly. The change delivered measurable gains — inspectors save about 10–15 minutes per visit, IT support load has fallen, customer notifications and on‑site scheduling improved, and overall productivity and cost efficiency across ESA’s 450,000 annual inspections have increased thanks to Nomadia’s solution.
