Poland’s Polskie Koleje Państwowe (PKP) Intercity, a major long‑distance passenger operator running roughly 350 trains daily, faced the challenge of delivering reliable on‑board connectivity and media services across a large, variable fleet without causing downtime. To modernize the passenger experience at scale, PKP partnered with Nomad Digital to deploy a WiFi connectivity solution and on‑media server in collaboration with T‑Mobile, requiring phased delivery and flexibility to handle changing train consists.

Nomad Digital designed, developed and installed the system, fitting roughly 300 carriages with leading router hardware, state‑of‑the‑art modems and a solid‑state on‑board media server holding up to 700 GB of offline content; the rollout is supported by a local team and Nomad’s HQ under an SLA. The result is the largest on‑board WiFi deployment in Eastern Europe, providing secure, consistent broadband and DRM‑protected HD entertainment across Poland and international routes, significantly improving passenger experience and enabling seamless internet and media access on long journeys.
