StarHub and Nokia upgrade Broadband / fixed access network to deliver nationwide 10 Gbps services

Nokia worked with StarHub, a Singaporean telecommunications provider, to upgrade its national broadband network. The challenge was to deliver faster 10 Gbps internet services to support bandwidth-intensive applications and create new revenue opportunities.

The solution implemented by Nokia was its XGS-PON technology and the Altiplano Access Controller, which uses AI-driven operations for automation and improved network utilization. As a result, Nokia enabled StarHub to successfully complete a nationwide rollout, connecting hundreds of thousands of homes to 10 Gbps speeds. This upgrade allows StarHub to support advanced applications like AI and immersive gaming and is a key part of Singapore's national digital transformation.
