How Case IH’s Christian Gonzalez and TIM Brasil’s Paulo Humberto Gouvea are building the connected farms of the future

Case IH, a leader in agricultural technology, faced the challenge of digitally transforming farms in Brazil’s vast rural landscape. To create a real-world "connected farm" lab, they needed a partner with the expertise to deploy reliable connectivity where traditional service models failed. They partnered with vendor Nokia and mobile operator TIM Brasil to address this.

Nokia and TIM Brasil implemented a new business model and deployed reliable 4G LTE connectivity across the rural area of Água Boa. This solution enabled precision farming through data from connected machinery and sensors, aiming to increase productivity and sustainability. The project also provided immediate social benefits, connecting over 25,000 people, 93 rural properties, and 21 schools, thereby fostering digital inclusion in the community.
