Case Study: GRNET achieves quantum-safe network readiness with Nokia

A Nokia Case Study

Hellas QCI and Nokia lead way to the future of Quantum-Safe-Networks

GRNET, the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology in Greece, leads the HellasQCI consortium tasked with securing the nation's critical infrastructure against future quantum computing attacks. The challenge was to establish a quantum-safe network to protect sensitive communications across Greece.

Nokia implemented a hybrid quantum key distribution (QKD) solution, showcasing critical interoperability in the architecture. The proof of concept successfully demonstrated that Nokia’s portfolio could secure the network against quantum attacks with the lowest latency and cost per bit. This trial is a key milestone for establishing the National Quantum Communication Infrastructure in Greece and the broader pan-European EuroQCI initiative.
