How the Comfort Storage Team Created Their Dream Facility

Comfort Storage — led by Lance and Todd Stockhausen with Sandra Hack — bought a former Walmart‑turned‑car museum in Punta Gorda, Florida and set out to convert it into a tech-forward self‑storage facility. Their challenge was to modernize the big‑box shell, meet community and code expectations, and create a standout customer experience; during planning they chose the Nokē Smart Entry System from Nokē to provide keyless access and mobile management.

To execute the vision, the team installed the Nokē Smart Entry System (Bluetooth keyless entry, digital key sharing and activity monitoring) alongside construction upgrades like a drive‑through lane, skylights, fast 14‑ft roll-up doors and large elevators. With Nokē’s system in place, Comfort Storage completed the conversion in eight months, raised the local standard for self‑storage, and attracted a loyal — and growing — tenant community.
