Green Education Foundation - Customer Case Study

Green Education Foundation (GEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds youth environmental programs by collecting and selling recyclable textiles and household items through Neighborhood Donation/Recycling Stations (NDRS) deployed in multiple states. These repurposed, solar‑powered container stations are high‑traffic and vulnerable to theft and vandalism; GEF previously relied on traditional keys for 3–5 daily users per station, creating inefficient key management and no reliable way to monitor or verify who entered and whether stations were re‑secured. Nokē (Nokē Pro use case) provided an electronic lock and access control solution to address these issues.

Using Nokē locks and access control software, GEF now issues time‑bound digital keys to contractors, removing the need for physical keys and the risk of loss, copying, or unauthorized sharing. Nokē’s system streamlines assigning and revoking access, provides automatic audit trails and reports, and enables continuous monitoring of all unlocks across GEF’s stations — improving security, accountability, and operational efficiency.
