The University of Nottingham, a top-ranked global university with campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia, was looking for a local provider to supply SIP trunks into its existing PBX network. Following a new SIP telephony installation, the university also faced the challenge of migrating 11,000 analogue telephone users over time and needed a cost-effective, timely connectivity solution. Node4 Ltd provided the SIP trunking service used to support this transition.

Node4 Ltd connected the university’s SIP telephony system to its network for outbound calls, later ported over DDI ranges to support local number presence for the School of Nursing in Mansfield, and extended DDI ranges to remote centres in Lincoln, Boston and Grantham. The vendor also quickly delivered internet connectivity for commercial tenants, resolving congestion on the existing commercial link. As a result, the university gained an extremely competitive-cost connection installed in a timely manner that solved its congestion problems.
