Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust captures 3,300 images in two months with Node4

Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust faced a challenge common across the NHS: providing 24/7 access to clinical photographic services while ensuring data security, compliance, and ownership of patient media. Existing solutions did not meet their requirements, leading them to seek a new partner. Node4 developed and implemented Galerie, a bespoke mobile application for clinical photo capture, annotation, and secure sharing. The solution ensured photos never left the application environment, protecting against GDPR breaches. The results were significant, with almost twice the expected users (500) adopting the platform, which was used to capture over 3,300 images of 1,000 patients in a two-month period. The app improved collaboration between hospital and community care teams and opened up new, unexpected use cases across the Trust.
