Case Study: Sharktech achieves lower latency and packet loss with Noction IRP

A Noction Case Study

Preview of the Sharktech Case Study

Noction IRP optimizes Sharktech network for measurable performance improvements and increased control over bandwidth utilization

Sharktech, a Las Vegas-based provider of DDoS mitigation, web hosting, and managed services, needed better control over its multi-homed network as traffic grew across its data centers. The company struggled with manual BGP configuration, suboptimal routing decisions, and the need to reduce latency, packet loss, and bandwidth overages while keeping provider commit levels under control. To address these challenges, Sharktech turned to Noction and its IRP platform.

Noction implemented IRP across Sharktech’s POPs in Amsterdam, Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles to automate traffic steering and optimize routing performance. The solution reduced packet loss by an average of 76% and cut latency by nearly 32%, from 298 ms to 203 ms, while also helping the team spend less time on manual BGP work and avoid bandwidth overages through Commit Control.
