Case Study: Steadfast improves network performance and reduces packet loss with Noction IRP

IRP helps Steadfast to proactively mitigate network issues providing best connectivity to its latency sensitive customers

Steadfast, a Chicago-based IT infrastructure provider serving cloud, colocation, ISP, and financial customers, needed a better way to automate BGP performance management across its networks in Chicago and New Jersey. After years of using Internap’s Flow Control Platform and relying on manual routing adjustments, the company wanted improved route optimization efficiency, better bandwidth distribution across transit providers, stronger ROI, and greater visibility into network performance.

Steadfast deployed Noction IRP as its BGP performance automation platform, replacing the older appliance in both data centers. With Noction IRP, the company improved traffic routing, fully utilized previously underused transit capacity, and gained better reporting and control; in the first two months, IRP optimized about 610 TB of traffic and announced over 2 million route improvements. Noction also helped deliver an 89% drop in packet loss, a 17% reduction in latency, and lower customer complaints and churn.
