TierPoint, a US provider of cloud, colocation, and managed services, needed to replace its existing route optimization system after a critical hardware failure at its Dallas data center. The company’s network team was looking to enhance performance, minimize latency and packet loss, automate BGP routing, and better manage traffic across multiple transit providers. Noction’s Intelligent Routing Platform (IRP) was chosen as a software-based alternative to meet these needs.

With Noction IRP, TierPoint moved to a virtual deployment that was easier to operate and more flexible than its previous hardware-based setup. Noction helped optimize more than 3,000 TB of traffic and announced over 4.5 million route improvements, reducing average latency by 26% and packet loss by 93% for analyzed prefixes. The platform also helped TierPoint control commit usage and improve customer experience by resolving routing issues faster, often before users were affected.
