Case Study: ATMC achieves inbound traffic optimization with Noction IRP

A Noction Case Study

Preview of the ATMC Case Study

How ATMC gained optimal control over the inbound traffic by using IRP’s automated inbound commit control feature

Atlantic Telephone Membership Cooperative (ATMC), a telecommunications cooperative in Shallotte, North Carolina, needed a better way to manage fluctuating inbound traffic, prevent links from being overloaded, and reduce latency and packet loss. To address these issues, ATMC turned to Noction and its Intelligent Routing Platform (IRP) for inbound traffic optimization and automated commit control.

Noction deployed IRP in phases, including non-intrusive testing, intrusive routing optimization, and a customized inbound traffic implementation using BGP automation, prepend communities, and inbound commit control thresholds. The result was automated traffic balancing across providers, reduced manual work, improved network performance, a 79% average reduction in packet loss, and nearly 22.4% lower average latency, from 219 ms to 170 ms.
