TransUnion, a Chicago-based risk and information solutions company that manages sensitive consumer credit data, needed to consolidate multiple colocation and managed sites into a new 12,000 sq. ft. data center to improve availability, security and reduce operational costs. Lacking a DCIM tool, the team relied on spreadsheets, ad hoc service requests and informal communication, which made asset tracking, change control and coordinated workflows inefficient and error-prone.

TransUnion implemented Nlyte’s DCSM solution—including workflow manager, asset and connection management, floor planning and APIs—deploying it in the new facility before go-live and inventorying legacy assets. The platform standardized requests and approvals, improved planning and collaboration across server, network and storage teams, sped audits and equipment location, enabled integrations with other systems, and helped streamline migrations and reduce operating costs while giving the company stronger control over its infrastructure.
