A Nix Case Study
Thomson Reuters, a global supplier of solutions for academia and corporations, faced significant challenges in maintaining its legacy trademark intelligence system accessed via Citrix virtual desktops. The company's team was expending considerable effort on manual testing and patches. Partnering with vendor NIX, the goal was to automate testing to free up engineering resources blocked by endless support cycles and meet an aggressive development timeline for a new platform.
NIX implemented a custom test automation solution using computer vision technology to interact with the system's GUI. This approach replaced 500 hours of manual work per test cycle and reduced testing cycles by four times. The results allowed Thomson Reuters to considerably decrease expenses associated with its legacy code and reallocate its engineering and QA teams to focus on developing new products.
