Cengage, a global education and technology company serving 12 million students, faced the challenge of processing and evaluating millions of daily test submissions from its numerous platforms. They needed a comprehensive solution to automatically assess student work in real-time, generate a variety of reports, and store data for future analytics. They engaged Nix to develop and implement a Data as a Service platform to address these needs.

Nix built an AWS-based data analytics solution featuring data pipelines, an analytics core, and a report generation module. The system, which utilizes Snowflake and includes 155 different services, now processes an average of 40 GB of data daily and generates 17 different real-time and scheduled reports. This has dramatically increased the system's value, providing a competitive edge through an enhanced student experience and delivering crucial business insights for teachers and administrators to enable personalized teaching approaches.
