Swiss Re, the global reinsurance group founded in 1863, needed to modernize its contract workflow in 2010 by converting insurance contracts to electronic format. That shift meant thousands of employees required PDF editing software, and the incumbent solution was too costly for a wide-scale rollout, so the company sought a lower-cost, full-featured alternative.
After a local recommendation, Swiss Re evaluated and deployed Nitro, working with its configuration team to create an enterprise install package and rolling the software out to more than 9,000 employees. The switch delivered faster document workflows, better collaboration, and reduced paper waste, backed by responsive support; Nitro became the company’s standard PDF tool, the three-year contract was renewed, and Swiss Re is now considering eSigning upgrades.
