A Nintex Case Study
Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), the largest power provider in the Middle East and North Africa with about 9.8 million customers and roughly 128 billion USD in assets, faced a major logistical challenge: managing construction and maintenance across vast, remote sites staffed by contractors. Legacy mainframe and manual processes gave contractors no efficient way to submit field updates, leaving headquarters with limited visibility; off‑the‑shelf ERP and SharePoint options were either functionally inadequate or too costly to implement.
SEC implemented Nintex Workflow, Forms and Mobile to build a Contractors’ Portal and related systems (Violations Control, Maintenance Management, Employee Complaints and Smart Metering). The solution lets crews, inspectors and managers submit electronic forms, photos and videos and integrates with enterprise systems to power KPI dashboards and decision‑making. As a result, solution development accelerated up to 10x, e‑services continuity was maintained during COVID‑19, decisions became more data‑driven, and the program supported the conversion of more than 9 million meters to smart meters.
