Process excellences takes flight at Wizz Air

Wizz Air, Europe’s fastest-growing and greenest airline with 710 routes across 151 airports in 44 countries and nearly 40 million passengers in 2019, needed a centralized process mapping and management tool to standardize procedures for its 4,500+ employees. Operating in a price-sensitive market, the airline launched a company-wide process excellence initiative to eliminate waste, control costs, and ensure consistent, safety-related processes.

Wizz Air implemented Nintex Promapp to map, manage and optimize processes, targeting 150 high-level core processes in the first year and leveraging the platform’s easy drag-and-drop interface. The program surpassed expectations—over 1,100 processes and procedures are now documented—embedding a process-driven culture, improving operational visibility and consistency, and helping the airline streamline operations to support its low-cost service model.
