Premier Oil, a global oil and gas company, faced inefficient, manual document control that made it hard for offshore teams to find the right specifications and exposed the business to versioning, access and security risks. A single document controller managed approvals, numbering and distribution using printed master lists, causing delays, confusion and potential operational risk.

Using SharePoint with Nintex Workflow and Forms, Appvity automated document numbering, request forms, notifications, lazy approvals and permission-based access, plus tracking and auditability. The new system cut approval times from about two business days to a few hours, saved an estimated 47 hours per approval request, improved document security and retrieval, freed staff for higher‑value work, and enabled ongoing rollout of additional workflows.
